Joi Schweitzer has the guts to dream big and the heart to be a hero.

At 24, Joi moved from the flight attendant seat to the cockpit, joining the remarkably small number of pilots who are African American women. Now at 35, she is flying for a commercial airline.

When Joi isn’t flying a CRJ 700/900, she’s making an incredible difference in the lives of young, aspiring aviators in Atlanta. She spends her Saturdays at a non-profit organization called A.C.E. (Aviation Career Enrichment). There, Joi volunteers and teaches aerospace education and pilot training. She encourages and challenges young men and women to pursue their dreams. “You can do it,” she says, “because I did.”

Making her world a better place is what she does and flying jets is how she does it.

A pilot. A role model. An innovator.
Joi Schweitzer was born to inspire.

“Find a way or make one,” says Tina Fears. And that’s exactly what she does.

Through dance and theatre, Tina is making a big difference in the lives of students at a local Atlanta college. No musical theatre program? No problem, at least not for Tina. It’s her chance to do something big for the students. Big, as in Broadway musical big. It’s simply her way of taking what God has given her and making something amazing happen.

But Tina’s work doesn’t stop there. For six years she’s worked with a non-profit organization, empowering underserved youth to see beyond their current circumstances and discover a new outlook. She knows what it’s like to be without, so helping kids in need means everything to her.

    A dancer. A mentor. A game-changer.
